A SOUTHAMPTON arts organisation will be hosting a series of talks to support artists of colour in the city.
‘A Space’ arts will launch a number speeches as part of Futures Forum, a professional networking and support initiative set up by the team at God’s House Tower, a new arts and heritage venue in Southampton.
In May attendees will hear number of speakers who have all been asked to share their experiences as Black artists working in the creative industries.
The organisation said they have launched the programme "in recognition of the Black Lives Matter movement, in order to address the lack of diversity in the local arts scene."
The speakers will include Mary Genis, artistic director and founder of CultureMix Arts (May 13), Maria Amidu, Royal College of Arts graduate (May 26), and Helen Cammock, artist and Turner Prize winner 2019 (May 26).
