DOGS and dog owners are being invited to attend Southampton's first ever open air dog cafe next month.
On June 19, Southampton's dogs are being invited to head to The Esplanade at Westquay for a free "Pupuccino" to celebrate the release of the book Happy Dog Days at the Pug Cafe.
The "Pop + Bark Pupuccino Bar" will be located on the astro-turfed area where The Spritz Social is currently located and between 9am and 11am, the Pug Cafe will be hosting a 2 hour "four-legged takeover".
All dogs will get a free Pupuccino worth £3.50 with a choice of toppings including pink pupcorn sprinkles, doggy jazzies and blueberries with a "Doggy Bakery" selling Pupcakes, Dognuts and Dog-friendly Cookies.
Even those who don't own a dog are welcome at the event which follows the Pug, Dachshund and Frenchie events that previously took place in the city and were "extremely popular" according to organisers.
Pug Café will also be celebrating the release of its new book Happy Dog Days at the Pug Café which is said to tell the "heart-warming tale" of how Bertie the Pug invented the world’s first café for dogs.
Visitors can also pre-order a signed copy of the book for collection on the day when you buy your tickets for the event.
Coronavirus safety measures are being taken at the event including spaced out seating plan, hand sanitising stations, temperature checks on arrival and face masks being worn when not sat at a table.
The organisers of the event said: "This is the ultimate feel-good morning for all pooches, dog owners and dog lovers alike. It’s the best way to socialise your dog (and yourself!) after what has been a tough year all round.
"So if your dog has been by your side throughout, treat them to the best morning out - they will absolutely love meeting lots of furry friends and not to mention being spoilt rotten with plenty of treats and attention."
Tickets for the event can be purchased on the Pug cafe website.
