A PLANNING inspector will decide the fate of a fence and gates that were installed without planning permission.
An appeal has been lodged after New Forest District Council refused a retrospective application relating to a detached bungalow at Barrs Wood Road, New Milton.
New Milton Town Council had urged NFDC to reject the proposal.
It said: "The fence creates a starkness and is contrary to local character. The committee stated that this application should not be permitted and enforcement action should be robust."
A report to district councillors said the visual impact of the fence was detrimental to the character and appearance of the area.
