STAFF at a Hampshire school have paid tribute to a highly-regarded colleague who died on her way home.
Teachers at Testwood School, Totton, have been left "shocked, stunned and saddened" by the death of finance assistant Marilyn Aouichaoui.
Mrs Aouichaoui had finished work and was returning home when she passed away.
Writing on social media head teacher Jenny Pitman said: "I would like to express my sincere condolences to Marilyn's family and I am sure you will all wish to do the same.
"Marilyn was a student at Testwood, then worked at Testwood for over 20 years and was well known in the local community."
Over the years she was a school governor and a staff governor. She also became good friends with several of her colleagues.
"All our staff are very shocked, stunned and saddened by Mrs Aouichaoui's passing and have spent time reflecting in school and at home," said Mrs Pitman.
Other people have also taken to social media to express their shock and dismay at her death.
One person said: "Very sad news indeed. Such a lovely lady who always helped and had time to listen with a wonderful sense of humour. Sending love to her wonderful children and the Testwood community."
Another added: "Marilyn was always so helpful on the phone if there was a problem. Both my children have lovely things to say about her."
One of the other people paying tribute described Mrs Aouichaoui as "one of the nicest people I have ever known".
Another said: "She was such a lovely person Always made my day better when she was on duty in the corridors. She always asked if I was OK and gave me a smile."
No details about the circumstances surrounding her death have been released.
