AN electric scooter rider has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car in a residential street.
The incident took place at just after 1pm this afternoon on Athelston Road, Southampton.
Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene.
The man suffered injuries, but they were not deemed to be life-threatening, a police spokesperson has confirmed to the Echo.
The man, who an officer on the scene confirmed was riding an electric scooter, has been taken hospital.
A spokesperson for the ambulance service said: "We were called at 13:08 to a collision involving a male who was knocked off his scooter.
"We sent to the scene an ambulance crew and two ambulance officers who were assessing and treating the patient for non life threatening injuries.
"He was treated at the scene by all our crews and taken to University Hospital Southampton."
