A CAMPERVAN has been destroyed after bursting into flames on a Hampshire motorway.
A fire has ripped through a campervan leaving a charred wreck on the northbound M3.
Three fire engines were called to tackle the blaze on a stretch of road between Winchester and Popham at around 8.30am today.
Crews from Eastleigh and Basingstoke Fire Stations used foam put out the fire which left the van "100 per cent destroyed".
Police were also notified of the incident with a stop message coming in at 9.43am.
According to Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service, no one was injured.
A police spokesperson said: "We were called at 8.35 this morning (Saturday, June 12) to a report of a campervan alight on the hard shoulder of the M3 northbound, shortly after the Winchester services.
"Officers were not required at the scene. No injuries were reported and the fire is not being treated as suspicious at this time."
