A MAN has been left seriously injured following a street attack in Southampton.
A 47-year-old man has been rushed to hospital after suffering serious injuries to his head and arms.
He was attacked at around 11pm near the junctions of St Mary's and Onslow Road on Friday.
Police say the man alleged to have carried out the assault is described as being mixed race, between 18 and 22-years-old, around 5ft 9ins tall, of slim build and with short brown hair.
He also had a bicycle with him.
Officers have now launched a witness appeal to trace the man and are keen to hear from anyone with information which may assist them.
A police spokesperson said: "Anyone with information about the assault or who recognises this description should call 101, quoting the reference 44210271280.
"Alternatively, you could call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
