SOUTHAMPTON City Council has apologised after missing glass recycling collections due to 'staff shortages'
The areas missed were in Aldermoor and Old Shirley and the council has said a 'catch up' is planned for Saturday.
The full statement, posted on Facebook yesterday (July 22) read: "Due to the ongoing shortage of drivers we've been unable to make glass recycling collections in the Aldermoor and Old Shirley areas.
"Please see map for the roads that we've been unable to make collections from.
"We will be running a catch up collection on Saturday, please bring your grey crates or wheelie bins back in for the time being.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
The Daily Echo has contacted Southampton City Council for more information.
