A SOUTHAMPTON road was taped off in the city centre during a major police operation last night.
Police officers swooped on St Mary Street at around 6.45pm last night.
A cordon was set up and the entire road was shut off at its junction with Ascupart Street.

A dog unit was on the scene as well as at least six patrol cars.
At this point it is unknown what sparked the incident, however, the Daily Echo has contacted Hampshire Constabulary for more information.
