YOUTHS have broken down and set light to a fence at a Hampshire cemetery, according to emergency services.

Firefighters were called out to the Mount Pleasant Recreation Ground in Hamble shortly before 9pm last night.

One engine from Hamble Fire Station helped tackle a blaze at the Military Cemetery off Hamble Lane.

A social media post from the station said: "We have just attended our third fire call of the day and we have just been to the Mount pleasant recreation ground where youths had broken down the new fence by the cemetery and set fire to it."

The stop message came in at 9.19pm.

The Daily Echo has contacted Hampshire Constabulary for more information.
