What is ChamberCustoms?

ChamberCustoms is the customs broker, training and advisory service delivered through Chambers of Commerce across the UK.

We are different from other customs broker services as we harness the reach, expertise and knowledge of the British Chambers of Commerce network to offer an unbeatably fast, reliable, and compliant service. ChamberCustoms is the only customs broker with direct links to all air, sea, and land port terminals in the UK.

Our borders have changed, the rules of the game have shifted, and traders need to build or reset their customs processes.

The journey so far

As you will be aware, since 1st January 2021 all goods moving between the UK, the EU and beyond require a customs declaration and understanding and implementing these changes post-Brexit as a busy, globally trading business has no doubt meant extra paperwork, headaches, and hassle.

Getting customs declarations wrong can cost your business valuable time and money and we can help simplify this process for you, by filing your customs declaration forms and additional paperwork on behalf of your business, ensuring you are HMRC compliant and therefore ensuring your goods clear customs at entry points across the UK so there are no delays or extra charges.

Since January, the network has worked with over 1000 companies and has issued in excess of 17,000 declarations.

ChamberCustoms offers an HMRC compliant service that you can trust, and as HMRC begins to roll out CDS (Customs Declaration Service), the system import and export declarations will be made through in the future, ChamberCustoms will be launching an end-to-end system to support businesses.

Launched back in June 2021, ChamberCustoms can now issue Transit documents via SGS TransitNet for traders moving goods to and across countries party to the Common Transit Convention. ChamberCustoms will submit and monitor Transit declarations on your behalf. We will arrange comprehensive bank guarantees through SGS to cover your goods in transit. TransitNet operates under EU CT regulations and principles.

With direct links to the HMRC Customs handling system and all inventory linked ports, we can ensure that your goods, no matter where they enter or leave the UK, will be cleared for onward transportation smoothly. We can help you keep your time sensitive supply chains moving efficiently and economically ensuring custom clearance is accurate, timely and avoids additional costs through delays or errors.
