A MAN who has a history of attacking emergency workers has been jailed for 30 weeks.

Declan John Gleeson, 25, appeared at Winchester Crown Court where he pleaded guilty to a raft of offences.

In January and February this year Gleeson assaulted seven prison officers in Winchester while they were on duty.

A month before his string of attacks he also targeted two others.

Gleeson pleaded guilty to all seven counts of assault by beating of an emergency worker, along with one count of inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent on February 8.

He pleaded not guilty to an assault occasioning actual bodily harm, which will lie on file.

Gleeson, of Languard Road Hostel, Southampton, was also told that he must pay a victim surcharge of £190.

He was jailed earlier this year for 18 weeks for assaulting a paramedic.
