A MAN has been locked up following a homophobic attack.
Brandon Luke Gamblin launched a "nasty attack" on a man in Hedge End.
A court heard the offence was so serious because it was homophobically aggravated.
Appearing before Southampton Magistrates' Court, he was charged with assault by beating which he denied.
He was found guilty of the incident which happened on June 19 last year
The 19-year-old admitted failing to surrender to court custody on a previous occasion. Gamblin of no fixed address was send to a young offender institution for 16 weeks. He was ordered to pay a £128 victim surcharge and £620 court costs.
