A MAN who stole items totalling more than £2,500 from John Lewis in Southampton earlier this month has been jailed.
Thomas Nathan Amos, of no fixed abode, has also been barred from all the chain's stores for a year, after three separate incidents of theft in five days.
Hampshire police says that Amos stole the items between August 4 and 9 from the store in West Quay.
He was found guilty of three counts of theft from a shop, and one count of assault.
Amos was handed an eight-week prison sentence.
A previous suspended sentenced was also activated by the judge, who sought to add a further 10 weeks imprisonment to Amos’ sentence.
He was imprisoned for a total of 18 weeks at Southampton Magistrates Court yesterday.
