A MAN was treated for smoke inhalation after a kitchen fire.

Crews from Beaulieu, Brockenhurst and Lymington fire stations were called to the incident at Barfields Court in Emsworth Road, Lymington.

Dorset and Wiltshire appliances were also mobilised but were later stood down.

A Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service (HIWFRS) spokesman said smoke was issuing from the property when crews arrived at the scene.

He added: "Firefighters used two sets of breathing apparatus, jets and hose reels to extinguish the blaze.

"HIWFRS initially assessed one male casualty suffering with smoke inhalation before he was passed into the care of South Central Ambulance Service paramedics who treated him at the scene."

The fire started at around 9.15am. Crews were on the scene for more than an hour.
