A MAN has been charged after an armed thief tried to steal a charity box from a Winchester bank.
Christopher Taylor, 34, from Hyde Gate, Winchester, was today charged with attempted theft and going equipped for theft.
The charge relates to an incident inside the NatWest bank on the city’s High Street yesterday.
Officers were called to the scene following reports of a man armed with scissors inside the bank.
Taylor is due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court later this afternoon.
