A MAN has been rushed to hospital following a street fight in Southampton.
A man in his 20s suffered injuries to his head and back and has been rushed to hospital.
It comes following an incident in Stanton Road on Thursday at around 2.45pm.
Police received reports of around six men fighting with weapons.
Officers have been in the area today carrying out further enquiries.
A witness appeal has now been launched.
A police spokesperson said: "We’re appealing for witnesses following a serious assault that took place yesterday, Thursday, 26 August, in Stanton Road, Southampton.
"Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident.
"We’re you in the area of Stanton Road and King George’s Avenue at around the time of the incident? Did you see anything? Perhaps you have some dash-cam footage or private CCTV?
"Anyone with information is asked to call us on 101 quoting 44210341162.
