TWO people were left needing medical attention at the weekend after a fire broke out in a first-floor bedroom of a city house.
On Saturday, fire crews from St Mary’s and Hightown were called to a house in Lydgate Green, Southampton.
This came after smoke had been seen coming from an upstairs bedroom of the property.
When firefighters arrived, all residents were out of the house and the fire was later found to be in a first-floor bedroom.
Two sets of breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet had to be used to extinguish the blaze.
A ventilation fan was also then used to clear the smoke.
Two people received emergency care from firefighters and were later handed over into the car of the South Central Ambulance Service.
