A lifeboat was called last night following reports that a dog had been swept out into the Solent, and a paddleboarder had followed.
The lifeboat responded at 18.28 last night, with the report stating the animal had been swept out into the Hurst narrows, in the western part of the Solent.
Lymington RNLI have said that HM Coastguard stood the rescue boat down as it approached the entrance of the Lymington River, as the dog and paddleboarder were safely ashore.
