The Coastguard responded last night to reports of children stuck in mud near Marchwood after being "cut off by the tide."
A crew from Lymington were sent to marshes in the area and the children were reportedly "led to safety" by firefighters.
A statement about the incident was put out by Hillhead Coastguard Rescue Team at around 10.35pm last night (Sep 2.)

A spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service said: "Crews from Totton, Redbridge and the water rescue team from Fareham were sent to Admiralty Quay in Marchwood yesterday evening at 17:13, following reports of children stuck on marshland, cut off by the tide.
"The two casualties were able to self-rescue and then led to safety by HIWFRS, leaving the scene at 18:13."
