NATIONAL park chiefs are studying a proposal to provide a new facility at a Grade II-listed pub in the New Forest.
Fuller Smith & Turner is seeking consent to build a timber-framed shelter in the garden behind the 18th century Fox and Hounds at Lyndhurst.
The scheme includes fixed seating, planters and lighting.
The application says: "The pub is currently trading and the refurbishment works are considered necessary to maintain trade throughout the autumn and winter and provide an enhanced amenity to locals and visitors alike."
It adds that the proposal "does not harm the structure of the building or remove any heritage assets".
