IT IS almost time to celebrate one of the UK's favourite type of dish.
Next week, October 4 to 10, is more interestingly known as National Curry Week.
So we have put together a top ten list of Southampton restaurants that offer second-to-'naan' food.
This is according to Tripadvisor, which has collated thousands of reviews from across the city.
National Curry Week
This year will be the 23rd National Curry Week (October 4-10).
The very first National Curry Week took place in October 1998 and was founded by the late Peter Grove.
He was a prominent journalist who had fallen in love with curry, and his vision was to drive awareness and appreciation of the Indian restaurant industry.

These are the top ten venues to get a curry in Southampton, according to Tripadvisor:
10: Jewels, Townhill Way, West End
This restaurant and takeaway in West End has been given an impressive 4.5 out of 5 from 519 reviews.
Reviewer Sarah S said: "Been coming to Jewels for years as the food is so good. Tonight all the dishes I had we’re the healthy option and I was apprehensive you would be able to taste the difference and it wouldn’t be as good. Happily surprised it was just as tasty and didn’t have the grease."
9: Coriander Lounge, High Street
Bang in the city centre, this restaurant received a 4.5 on average from a whopping 1,874 reviews.
Reviewer Michael F said: "Really great food and very good service, I'm told its the best curry hose in Southampton, would not disagree with that.
"Very tasty food lots of flavours going on – keep it up guys."
8: KALI MIRCHI, Shirley High Street
The Shirley eaterie has been handed a 4.5 out of five from 612 reviews.

So close to breaking into the top three, which are all 5 out of 5, is Tandoori, with a 4.7 out of 307 reviews.
