WE ASKED for your photos of bad parking in Southampton - and you certainly delivered.

We have whittled down your submissions to seven pictures, which include haphazard parking in Shirley high street and completely missing the lines of a parking space.

One car has seemingly abandoned the road, while another has blocked the pavement.

Unless you live in London, there is currently no explicit law that bans parking on the pavement.

Different civil and criminal laws cover pavement parking in different parts of the country.

However, depending on the width of the pavement, it can be considered antisocial behaviour and police can charge you with ‘unnecessary obstruction of the highway.’

Here is what you sent when we asked for pictures of the worst parking in Southampton.

Stephen sent us the above picture of a car blocking a pavement in Burgess Road.

He said: "(The driver) left for around 20 minutes blocking the pavement and left their passenger in the car to be embarrassed."

One reader shared this photo of a BMW obstructing the pavement outside of a tanning salon in Shirley high street.

The reader said that this happens daily.

Daily Echo:

I think it's safe to say this car missed the parking space!

Some readers did not share photos, but did say where in the city they think is a hotspot for bad parking.

One reader said: "Weston. People think they own the car parking space. They move out to put another family car there.

"People block other car users in when you have parked in a spot that they want."

Another reader said: "Anywhere outside takeaways, especially in Portswood. It's laden with inconsiderate Deliveroo and Just Eat delivery drivers."
