'GANGS of youths' have flipped cars, smashed windows and destroyed pumpkins during a night of chaos on a Southampton estate.
Residents have been left scared to leave their homes after around 30 teens took to the streets of Millbrook last night.
Three cars were reportedly flipped over in Ennerdale Road and another in Maybush Road.
Meanwhile, the front doors of the One Stop store in Cumbrian Way were also vandalised.
According to a resident of Ennerdale Road who was left "really scared" by the event, the youths also pelted cars with pumpkins.
Commenting on what happened, the Labour councillor for Redbridge, Sally Spicer, said: "I was shocked by the photos seen on social media last night. What started off as a lovely evening with children out trick or treating turned out nasty with a gang of youths terrorising the local community.
She added: "We want to reassure residents that we will do all we can to work with the police with finding the youths responsible. Any video footage should be handed over to the police. This is beyond a few pumpkins being kicked down the road and the incident last night was quite frankly horrifying and upsetting."
A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary has confirmed that investigations are now underway.
The force is carrying enquiries concerning a number of criminal damage reports.
