SOUTHAMPTON residents have vented their anger at gangs of youths running riot and flipping cars over on a city estate.

A total of four cars were tipped over on the Millbrook estate on Sunday night.

Police received multiple reports of cars being damaged and shops being vandalised.

Areas targeted, included Ennerdale Road, Maybush Road and Cumbrian Way.

Millbrook resident, Tomasz Strojek said: “There was a riot of youngsters that walked around the streets, smashing everything.”

The 48-year-old, who has lived in the area for 14-years, added: “I am absolutely sick.

“My stomach is sick. My wife, she is shocked.

“We are key workers. We work so hard. I am a tanker driver and my wife, she is a nurse.

“She is so scared she was crying. We are absolutely devastated.”

The father of two told how the rear window of his Toyota was smashed through and he had to miss work on Monday to repair it.

Tomasz went on to say: “I would like to see them punished. They should pay for the damages.

“It’s not only me, the whole community is shocked.

“It’s just unbelievable what they’re doing.

“They terrorize us.

“They are not kids. They are devils. They are pure devils. They are terrorists.

“There should be tough rules for them and police should seriously take action against them.

“The police are doing nothing. The police are useless. They just walk around from time to time. The youngsters are laughing at them.”

Meanwhile, an Ennerdale Road resident who wished to remain unnamed said: “My neighbour knocked on my door who lives opposite me and he said there was a group of thirty around my car so he told me to go out and check it.

She added: “I saw one car straight outside my flat and another car was round the side next to my car and they had just been tipped completely on their side.

“It looked like a crash.

“Other people saw it that they were rocking them.

“They’re not threatened by the police. I feel really scared. It’s scary.”

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary has confirmed that investigations are now underway.

The force is carrying out enquiries concerning a number of criminal damage reports.

City leaders have expressed their shock and anger over the incidents.
