A TRIO of celebrities headlined Wessex Cancer Trust’s Christmas concert.

Actor Martin Clunes, journalist Alastair Stewart and broadcaster Alan Titchmarsh were guest readers at the celebrations at St Peter's Church in Titchfield, which raised money to support local people living with cancer.

Bagpipes led guests to Hampshire’s oldest church for an evening of carols and music, including performances by Wessex Cancer Trust’s Cosham Sing for Life choir.

Sally Hillyear, Wessex Cancer Trust’s Head of Fundraising, said: “We’re incredibly grateful for the support of Martin, Alastair and Alan, and everyone who performed and bought tickets to the event.

"Living with a cancer diagnosis can be incredibly tough and it’s been even more of a challenge for people during the Covid-19 pandemic. We were delighted to be in this wonderful church in Titchfield for a very special evening, especially as it rather felt that Christmas was put on hold last year.”
