TILES were torn away as a mini tornado style storm hit a block of flats at Fareham last night.
Fareham firefighters were called to Compass Point in Elmhurst Road at about 7pm.
About half dozen roof tiles had broken away as fierce storms hit the area.
A Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "If the tiles had fallen they would have hurt someone. We removed the tiles and made the roof safe."
No one had to be evacuated from the three storey block of flats and fire crews were on the scene for about an hour and half.
