AN 11-year-old boy has died after a crash near Winchester last night.
Yesterday at 8.50pm, a red Nissan Qashqai was involved in a crash with a motorway barrier.
The incident took place on the southbound M3 on the slip road at junction 11.
The car contained a family from Fair Oak.
An 11-year-old boy was taken to Southampton General Hospital.
It has now been announced that he has sadly died.
The driver, a 61-year-old man was also taken to the same hospital.
He suffered serious and potentially life changing injuries according to police.
A 48-year-old woman and a 9-year-old girl suffered minor injuries.
They were also taken to hospital.
Now the family are being supported by specialist officers.
Hampshire Constabulary's Inspector Andy Storey, said: “We know the family were travelling from the Basingstoke area so we’d like to appeal to anyone who may have been travelling along this stretch of the motorway prior to the collision, who may have seen the vehicle, to get in touch with us.
“We would also like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision. Did you see what happened? Do you have dash cam footage showing the collision or the moments beforehand?
