A SOUTHAMPTON man is due in court following a serious attack that left another man hospitalised.
A man in his 20s was rushed to hospital after suffering injuries to his back and thigh.
He is now in a stable condition but is still being treated following the assault in Taranto Road, Southampton, on Thursday night.
Chorley Laxton, 21, of Shirley Road, has since been charged with causing grievous bodily harm, and two counts of being in possession of an offensive weapon.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Southampton Magistrates' Court on Monday, January 3.
A 41-year-old man and 20-year-old woman from Southampton, who were both previously arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder have been released on police bail until January 27.
Police are now urging anyone who witnessed the attack or who has any information which may assist their enquiries to call 101, quoting the reference 44210520509.
