THREE men have been arrested after a member of staff and one other were attacked at a town shopping centre.

The arrests come after an incident at Eastleigh's Swan Centre yesterday afternoon (January 30).

At around 2pm it is said that an argument had broken out between a group of men.

Three men are then alleged to have assaulted a female member of staff at a kiosk.

Then a member of the public attempted to intervene, but was also assaulted by the three men.

Police claimed the men also tried to steal the man's mobile phone.

He was left with minor injuries.

Officers were called and found three men matching a description given to them by shopping centre staff.

Now a 24-year -old man from Lockerley has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

An 18-year-old man of no fixed abode was also arrested on suspicion of common assault and using threatening behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress.

While a 28-year-old man from Romsey was arrested on suspicion of common assault.

All three have been bailed with conditions until February 27.
