A DEPUTY council leader has claimed that more than 5,000 potholes have been repaired in one year across Southampton.
It comes after the Echo reveals concerns around the quality of the work that is being carried out.
One resident said they are “unimpressed”.
But in a tweet yesterday deputy leader of the council, Cllr Jeremy Moulton, said the authority had fixed more than 500 potholes between December and January.
He added that some 5,000 had been fixed in a year since pothole patrol launched.
“This morning I was in Cornwall Crescent in #BitternePark where we have just finished resurfacing the road and pavements,” he said.
