A RED weather warning has been issued for wind across Southampton as Storm Eunice batters the city.
The Met Office has today upgraded the Amber weather warning as high-speed winds hit the south.
They have warned that high winds could cause significant disruption and dangerous conditions.
There could be flying debris resulting in danger to life and damage to buildings and homes, with roofs blown off and power lines brought down.
Schools across the city have been closed and bin collections have been cancelled as a result of the weather.
Southampton City Council leader Dan Fitzhenry spoke on BBC Radio Solent urging people to stay home.
