A NEW Forest care home has thrown a special party to celebrate its first year serving the community.

Staff and residents at Moors Manor care home, in St Leonards, near Ringwood, commemorated this special occasion in style with a fish and chips lunch.

The home was visited by Lime Coast Catering, a local mobile company, who cooked the fish and chips from their van.

This was followed by a party with games, quizzes and birthday cake cooked by the chefs.

General manager, Tracey Aldin said: “It is important to recognise the hard work of our staff here at Moors Manor.

"For the past year, we have provided a caring home for our residents as well as the best possible environment for our staff.

"Today not only enables us to celebrate their hard work, but it's also an opportunity to thank the residents, their relatives and friends who have made Moors Manor such a loving home.

"We have some exciting events planned for the upcoming year."
