A MAJOR Southampton route will be partially closed to make way for emergency works.
The city council is warning that delays will build in the Redbridge area between March 5 and 10.
Southern Water has found leak on Redbridge Road that requires immediate attention.
Lane closures will be in place outbound on Millbrook flyover, Millbrook roundabout and onto Redbridge Road.
The works will start on Saturday March 5 from 7pm and will continue over the weekend.
"Southern Water are aiming to complete the work by Monday 7 March," says the council's Highways team.
"They will then proceed to reinstate the concrete road surface, however, due to curing times, it is likely that the network may be affected until Thursday March 10.
"Due to the extent of this work, we are expecting delays in the area, to help to minimise the impact of these works we will be utilising all city VMS boards and Twitter to advise motorists of Southern Water’s emergency works and to expect delays.
"We will be reviewing the traffic flows and where possible we will assist the network by directly managing the traffic lights to ease congestion. We will regularly liaise with Southern Water and will send updates, to advise on progress."
