AN INVESTIGATION is underway after an 18-year-old woman was allegedly raped in a Southampton park.

A police cordon has been put up in Riverside Park today after a woman was attacked

Officers are currently in the area carrying out investigations following the incident at around 11.30pm on Tuesday

A spokesperson from Hampshire Constabulary said: We were called at 11.24pm yesterday (March 8) to a report of a rape against an 18-year-old woman in Southampton.

"The incident is said to have happened yesterday evening in Riverside Park.

"A scene is currently in place there and officers continue to carry out enquiries.

"The woman is being supported by specialist officers."
