THE Solent Local Enterprise Partnership is celebrating being shortlisted for the Maritime UK awards for its work to secure a more prosperous and sustainable future for the Solent region.
The Solent LEP is a finalist in two categories: Coastal Powerhouse - in recognition of organisations driving growth within a coastal community; and Clean Maritime Enabler which recognises the support given to green innovation in the UK Maritime Sector.
Many organisations from the are Solent shortlisted for the Maritime UK Annual Awards in a variety of categories as part of this prestigious, annual recognition.
Alongside the Solent LEP, finalists in the Maritime UK Awards 2022 from the Solent include:
Bevis Minter Award - Gabriel Verne, Warsash Maritime School
Start-up of the Year - Falcon Tenders
Future Skills - Cowes Enterprise College
Clean Maritime Enabler - Carisbrooke Shipping, Solent LEP
Clean Maritime Operator - Associated British Ports, Wightlink
Ferry Apprentice of the Year- Jamie Bamforth
BAE Systems Innovation Award - ABP Southampton
Diversity Champion - SERCO, Ecomar Propulsion.
The Maritime UK Awards focus on a wide range of areas and recognise the very best of the UK’s maritime sector. The winners will be announced on March 10 at the Glasgow Science Centre.
