A MAN has been released on bail following reported rape at a Southampton hotel.
An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of rape in connection with an incident at the Premier Inn in Cumberland Place on Friday night.
Police officers could be spotted in the area on Saturday carrying out investigations for much of the day.
A spokesperson for the county force has now confirmed that the man has been released on bail until April 9.
Meanwhile, officers are continuing to carry out enquiries.
It is now the third rape investigation in Southampton launched in a week.
The reported incidents have been branded as distressing by a city councillor following on from the International Women’s Day celebrations.
