EASTLEIGH made all-but sure of their National League survival with a 2-0 win over relegation-threatened Aldershot.
Young Bournemouth loanee Brennan Camp scored his first for the club before experienced Tyrone Barnett added the second deep into first-half stoppage time.
However, the victory was overshadowed by a concerning injury to Shots goalkeeper Ethan Ross, who was taken to hospital with a suspected C spine fracture.
The Hampshire outfit have released a positive update, and Ross has been cleared of that injury and is heading home with whiplash.
Lee Bradbury’s side had suffered four consecutive losses in the league to slip down the table and leave some supporters itching about the club’s future.
The three points take them to 15 points clear of the drop zone with eight games to go, leapfrogging Wealdstone and Maidenhead into 17th place.
Camp scored the opening goal with 22 minutes gone before a lengthy delay following an injury to Ross, who required treatment from paramedics.
Tyrone Barnett doubled the visitors’ advantage in the ninth of 23 minutes of first-half stoppage time.
Eastleigh saw out the victory to leave Aldershot – who also lost substitute keeper Mitch Walker to injury with forward Mo Bettamer taking the gloves – 20th.
