A PHOTOGRAPH has been released after a child was almost hit by a bike that was travelling across a Southampton park.

Police spotted the rider as they "recklessly" travelled along the grass at Mansel Park, Millbrook.

Officers were then told that the rider had nearly collided with a child who was playing at the park.

But despite getting a picture of the rider, police were not able to stop the individual as upon seeing officers, they fled the scene.

The vehicle is an off-road scrambler, white and blue. The rider was wearing all black.

In a post on Southampton Cops Facebook page, police said: "Parks are for children, families and dog walking. Motorbikes are not welcome on the parks.
