A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a serious assault in Southampton, police have confirmed.
Police are investigating a serious assault after a man in his 20s was found in Above Bar Street with serious injuries at around 4am.
He has been taken to hospital, where he remains with potentially life-changing injuries.
Three people have been arrested following the incident.
A 21-year-old man from Southampton has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and a 17-year-old boy from Winchester was arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent.
Police have not confirmed why the third man, a 19-year-old man from Fareham, was arrested.
Officers remain in the area today, conducting enquiries.
