Experience this interactive living history experience this Easter and learn more about the role of the railway during the 1930’s.

There will be characters at each station to bring the railway to life in a fun and engaging way for the whole family.

Meet the Station Master at Alresford and learn how his garden contributed to the war effort and take home your very own tomato seeds to grow yourself.

At Ropley, you can learn more about the role of women on the railway and the work they carried out on Canadian Pacific.

Learn more about trade during the war at Medstead and Alton from suave Spiv Bertie Bridges and see if you can help Local Defence Volunteer Norman Bishop find his lost Oxo cubes at Alton.

3) Hoppy Easter event, Paultons Park, all weekend

Daily Echo:

Meet Bobtail Bunny and friends at Paultons this Easter.

Guests will be able to meet cute characters at the main entrance plaza.

Come and say hello to Bobtail Bunny and his forest friends, Betty Bunny, Hennie the Hedgehog and Red the Deer.

Watch out for mischievous Fenton Fox though, as he will surely be eyeing up any tasty Easter treats you may have!

Guaranteed to put a spring in your step, the Park entrance will also be festooned for Easter with colourful giant Easter Eggs and Bunnies at every turn.

4) Easter EGGStravORGANza, St James Park, Monday (April 18)

Daily Echo:

A CROWD-pleasing piece of outdoor theatre featuring a customised 1980s Ford Orion will be performed at the Easter Monday event. 

City based ZoieLogic Dance Theatre are bringing their smash-hit show RIDE to St James Park. 

The annual event, which runs from 11am to 3pm, will feature musical organs, a quiz trail, fairground rides, a tombola, barbecue, charity and business stalls, sports, arts and crafts and help with riding and fixing bikes. 

5) Southampton Funfair, Southampton common, all weekend

Daily Echo:

B.Cole & Sons return to The Common this Easter. 

With an extensive ride list including the waltzer, the runaway train, the caterpillar coaster, bungee trampolines, the ghost train, the carousel and the mega slide, there's fun for all the family.

The Easter fair is open daily from 1pm to 9.30pm.
