A MAN who carried out a "reckless assault" on a police officer has been jailed.
Michael Roy Stimson assaulted the officer in Portsmouth on April 7.
The court heard how the 39-year-old had carried out a "reckless assault" on an emergency worker while he was carrying out his responsibilities as a police officer.
Appearing at Southampton Magistrates' Court, he pleaded guilty to assaulting an emergency worker by beating.
Stimson, of Ladycross Road, Hythe, was jailed for a total of 12 weeks and was ordered to pay compensation of £50.
