TWO people have been arrested after a 17-year-old cyclist was left with serious injuries in a hit and run.
Police were called to Commercial Road in Southampton at 2.13am on Sunday after a car hit a cyclist.
The 17-year-old cyclist suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
The car, a blue Ford Kuga, fled the scene of the crash.
A man, 24, and a woman, 23, both from Rownhams, have been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop after an accident.
They remain in custody at this time.
A spokesperson from Hampshire Constabulary said: "Officers investigating are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident, or perhaps captured the incident and the car involved on dash-cam.
"Perhaps you are a taxi driver who happened to be in the area at the time? Do you have any dash-cam footage?
"Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting 44220180333.
"Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers 100% anonymously on 0800 555 111, or via their anonymous online form at crimestoppers-uk.org"
