A HOUSE has been badly damaged in a blaze after fire pit ashes were brought inside, firefighters have said.
Significant damage has been caused to the mid-terrace property in Brittany Close, Marchwood, with photos showing the kitchen charred and blackened.
Some 12 firefighters were called to the incident at 9.42am - with two crews from St Mary's station and one from Hardley station attending.

Six firefighters used breathing apparatus in the incident, with three hose reels and two main jets used to bring the fire under control.
The incident was over at 10.46am, just under an hour after the 999 call was made.
Station commander Dave Graham, who directed crews at the incident, posted images of the aftermath. He said: "Please dispose of fire pit ashes correctly do not bring them inside even if you think they are out."
