RESCUERS went to the aid of three teenagers stranded aboard a dis-masted catamaran in the Solent.

The incident, which occurred yesterday, ended with the teenagers being taken back to shore and collected by their parents.

Hill Head Coastguard Rescue Team tweeted: "Team tasked to assist a small catamaran with three people on board which had dis-masted in the Solent.

"The casualties, three teenage boys were recovered safely ashore so they could be collected by parents."

No further details have been released.
