A BID has been made submitted for the demolition of a popular bowling site in Southampton ahead of its redevelopment.
As previously reported, plans are currently being drawn up to turn the Tenpin bowling site in Auckland Road, Millbrook into a builder's merchant.
Organised by Canada Life, the plans have been posted to residents of the area and advertised outside the building as a pre-application consultation takes place.
Users of the site and a councillor for the area have since raised concerns about the scheme which would see the "popular" bowling site knocked down.

But now an application has been made to Southampton City Council's building control department in order to carry out the demolition.
The application says the works would include the "demolition of the existing warehouse and erection of a new warehouse with associated hardstanding and landscaping".
The application was made on May 30 and according to the council's online planning portal, was approved on the same day.
An official planning application has not yet been submitted for the scheme.
