THE DEATH of a man found on a major road in Southampton is being treated as "unexplained but not suspicious", police have confirmed.
Thomas Lewis Way was shut for several hours after a man was found with serious injuries in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Police say the man, who was in his 20s, was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The investigation into the discovery of the body at 5.30am remains ongoing.
However, the man's death is being treated as "unexplained but not suspicious" and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
Thomas Lewis Way was closed between Burgess Road and St Denys Road on Thursday, causing traffic to build during rush hour.
It reopened just after 10.30am.
