VIDEO footage captured by several members of the public shows how firefighters rushed to tackle the 7bone restaurant blaze.
Fire crews were called shortly before 8pm to the fire in Portswood Road, Southampton.
There are 15 fire engines from across Hampshire at the scene.
There were around 75 firefighters on the scene at the start.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service will be bringing in relief teams and crews are going to be dealing with the blaze for a few hours.
The road will be closed until the morning.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage.
A fire investigation crew is in the area and a police drone is in use.
No injuries have been reported.
