THOUSANDS of pounds worth of jewellery has been stolen in a home burglary.

Police have launched an investigation after a house burglary in Barton-on-sea.

The culprit forced entry into the house and a haul of jewellery was stolen including watches, rings, gold bangles, and a bracelet.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses to come forward following the break in between 2pm on Thursday, July 7, and 4pm on Sunday, July 10, in Chiltern Close.

A spokesperson from the force said: "Officers investigating the incident are keen to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious.

"We would also urge people to be aware, particularly pawn shops, if they see or are offered expensive jewellery for sale.
