POLICE were called out to a section of the Itchen Bridge earlier today.
A police car stopped around the centre of the bridge with its flashing lights on at around 12.15pm.
It remained at the scene for about 15 minutes before leaving the area just after 12.30pm.
Update: Woman taken to hospital after falling from river
One officer could be seen on the bridge but at this stage it is not known why they were there.
Hampshire Constabulary has been approached for more information.
